Content Building

First class content is a vital component of SEO

We would say that, once optimum keywords have been decided upon, it is the website textual content on your important web pages that is the single most important factor to influence a page's search engine rankings.

A well written page of keyword rich text on its own can achieve very good search engine rankings even without other methods of optimisation.

"Welcome to my website"

Why oh why do we still come across so many home pages that say “welcome to my website”? In the case of tourism websites this profound statement is usually accompanied by a picture of a Hotel, B&B or self catering cottage that takes forever to download, and says “click here to enter”. Not only that, the image is often so dark you can't see any detail whatsoever!

We have never found such a web page in page one of Google! Or, for that matter on page one of any of the top search engines.

We have sometimes found web pages with hundreds of paragraphs of text on page one. But do people manage to read to the bottom of these long pages of small text! Most simply lose interest before they get to the bottom of the webpage.

Content building?

We understand why such pages are created, but the secret, if there is such a thing, is to overcome the urge to save money by letting a friend down south “knock up” your site in exchange for a free week’s holiday. It is your business; you can ruin it much quicker than it took to build.

Why waste money going online at all if you waste the opportunity to bring in real business by using amateurs to “knock up” your website? Business in the form of traffic to your website will come, provided you get your website made and optimised by people that know what they are doing. Marketing your business via your website is an ongoing process.

Content building!

A well designed web page, in our experience, needs 200 words of unique textual content. That is enough content to give the search engines something to digest whilst short enough to keep the attention of your potential customer.

We have years of experience of building content for tourism websites as well as composing content for tourist brochures, advertising etc. Each type of medium has it's own style of optimisation. We naturally include content building for web pages as part of our search engine optimisation work.
